A WAKE UP CALL

Written by Yasir

He sat morosely contemplating in the verandah. He was beset with the deep thoughts. He felt so desolate and bereft, succumbed to the emptiness she has left in his life. Apathy has started engulfing him.

The person whom he refers to has played a significant role in his journey from a boy to a man.
For 8 long years, she had been with him, evolving from a mere acquaintance to a friend, from a friend to a close friend, from a close friend to an intimate and best friend, from the best friend to a soulmate.
The way she used to handle him was impeccable; funny though!.

Memories were floating through his heart. Tears were flowing unintentionally. He was so emotionally dependent on her as she had the medicine to cure all his worries and sorrows. She used to cuddle him like a Mother, fights with him like a sister, wrangles with him like a kid, compromises more than a wife and love him more than Juliet does.

He felt like all those recollection had been a dream and it was too hard to realize that everything is over. All the travails suddenly started giggling at him. Some people come to our lives to teach the value of the soul, life and relationships. She has taught him everything.
Some reasons and explanations can't be valid, but of course for a better cause!

" If you love a flower, don’t pick it up, because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation." ~ Osho

      - What a beautiful thought from Osho, isn't iit?

Now, the protagonist gets a wake-up call and now, he knows the significance of this beautiful flower from his garden of paradise. He will cherish and nurture it, takes the fragrance to his heart, but will never pluck it up.
